Production Innovative Audiovisual Formats
Innovative Audiovisual Formats that are produced in Bavaria, with or without the participation of a broadcaster or web platform, may apply for production funding. The funding is intended to help ensure that new formats can be realized and presented on the market without the involvement of a broadcaster. Formats of all genres are possible. New format ideas should be sustainable and published at least once a week on a platform. For this purpose, successfully established video portals, VOD, SVOD and AVOD platforms or Internet-based offers from broadcasters can be considered. The funding is awarded as a grant and may amount to up to 60% of the eligible production costs, but to a maximum of 50,000 euros per project. The funding program is intended particularly for producers and filmmakers in Bavaria.
Bavaria Effect
The amount of the subsidy is to be spent entirely in Bavaria. The Bavaria Effect and the shooting days specified by the producer in the application must at least be achieved and, in the event of a positive recommendation for funding, become part of the funding contract.
Application
In addition to the script, calculation, financing plan and proof of acquisition of the film rights, a marketing concept containing information on the planned business model, possible exploitation and a revenue forecast must be attached to the grant application.
Funding applications may be submitted within the respective application window for one of the four funding sessions per year exclusively via the online application portal. Before submitting an application, the responsible funding executive must be contacted by telephone or in person.
